THE PROPOSAL

Pre-design is initial stage from work making an architectural construction including inside making monument. Input from any parties mainly from competent resources person is an essence thing in expressing history fact will be realized through shape on monument element, that is, relief. Thus all, from pre-design until design ready to be realized in tangible shape still requires more stages.

MONUMENT LEGION VETERAN NORTH SUMATERA
This monument takes main idea of traditional construction and modern generally in Indonesia. Basically construction in Indonesia is divided into three parts. This is described from old construction shape reflected on temple construction, that are, temple feet, temple body and temple head. And also to today construction divided into foundation/floor, wall and roof. Bilangan Tiga also can symbolize relation between human with human, human with nature, and human with his Lord.

Bilangan Tiga also reflects basic behavior of Indonesian as enclosed on Tri Dharma :

1. Rumangsa melu handarbeni (come to have)
2. Melu hangrungkebi (come to defend)
3. Mulat sariro hangroso wani (dare to see our self)

Construction Monument Legiun Veteran North Sumatera located in field of land in front of building Yudha Bhakti RI North Sumatera Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto Km 7,5 Medan. Area wide prepaed is 25,85 m x 38,10 m. Pre-design monument construction requires area as wide 15 m x 15 m, that is at least a quarter from available area. The remain is garden/landscape meant to maintain natural environment.

Three per four land remain will be arranged aesthetically and constructively appropriate with monument construction complex entirely. Besides that, Building Yudha Bhakti, in front of it will be renovated with material and shape will be based on monument construction. Thus all, there is combination and unity, in entirely between old and new construction.

Monument construction and nature element come to fill each other creating and maintaining nature harmoniously. Material from nature such as river stone/temple stone/andesit stone, Lampung marble that many in Sumatera will be used as finishing construction. To give beautiful and chilly, and to reinforce interaction between nature and monument construction, surrounding monument will be planted with various perdu plant and trees that in the future will create beautiful and harmoniously around monument.

MONUMENT CONSTRUCTION
Construction Monument Legiun Veteran North Sumatera is divided into three parts, that are, Monument Feet, Monument Body and Monument Head.

Monument Feet
Monument feet is part which main foundation is made. Basic shape of monument feet is quadrangle. In this monument feet contains several elements among other:

Stair
On four monument side contain stair to go up to gallery which contains monument body, place of struggle relief to be placed.

Sculpture of Sumatera Lion
In the middle of basic floor placed sculpture of Sumatera lion that symbolize warriors bravery in chasing away colonizer. Sculpture of Sumatera lion with wary position visually also as monument guard.

Struggle Flame
On four corners of quadrangle monument feet contains container flame made from nature stone that symbolize struggle flame never die during the soul inside body. In flame container will be placed light to affirm light flame in the night.

Decoration Plant
Among stair and struggle flame container are planted decoration plants, this is for neutralizing hard and heavy feeling because of monument material majority in form of nature stone, that are andesit and marble stone

Gallery
After go up on stair, there is gallery which we can enjoy relief in monument body. On gallery floor has motif from nature stone color (mozaik) in form of star. The star is respectful symbol for National Soldiers. All Veteran Nation Soldiers are warrior without seeing position. Because of their services, they all having 'star' both in the world or heaven.

Monument Body
Monument body is in circle shape symbolizing strong will in adoring Pancasila dan UUD 45 in scope of NKRI. In monument body with its length around 16 meter if being lying and height 1 meter contains relief Independence Struggle History Line Republic Indonesia in Medan Area and in East Sumatera in 1945 - 1949. Except the history line relief also contains role relief also veteran warriors Republic Indonesia in development of nation and state.

Monument body also shaded by lotus leaves represents part of monument head.

Monument Head
On monument head there are two parts, that are, monument head and monument crown.

Monument head in form of lotus leaves sheets in five and vustek/bearing two pieces of sculpture. Lotus leaves of five sheets made from temple stone and vustek in form of pentagonal from old grey marble material symbolizes five sila within Pancasila.

Monument crown is part of monument head in form of two veteran warrior sculptures that its attribute is proper to its time, symbolizing optimal achievement from a struggle that never exhausted and surrender. Entirely lotus leaves of five sheets, pentagonal vustek and sculpture (two pieces) are form entirely from otus tree, are, leaves, flower stem, flower sepal and stamen symbolizes struggle rely on spirit, holiness and sincerity.

SITE PLAN
Concept of site plan for complex of Monument veteran Republic Indonesia North Sumatera based several things to become consideration among others : exist site plan is area/field of land located in front Building Yudha Bhakti Veteran RI North Sumatera Jl. Jend. Gatot Subroto KM 7,5 Medan in wide 25,85m x 38,10 m. Remain maintained exist site plan. Monument construction within exist site is one unity with Building Yudha Bhakti Veteran RI North Sumatera. Monument construction is located on place as according to exist element so it can be harmoniously with surrounding.

Pattern site way is made so it can direct visitors to see regularly and can comprehend from any point of view from monument body.

GREEN LANDSCAPE PLAN
Green landscape from construction complex is element can not be separated from site plan. Its plan concept related tight with its site plan.
