Hanna Artspace positioned itself as an alternative space for artists to display works in an elegant and organized to a wide audience. By acting in the "heart" of Indonesia, Hanna Artspace is dedicated to improving its function as cultural institutions and commercial institutions as well.
Hanna's inaugural exhibition at Artspace Jakarta, themes "Unity in Diversity". The theme of this exhibition reflects the spirit of Hanna Artspace as a space to accommodate the diversity of art creativity. Hanna Artspace put great faith and deep appreciation to the reality of contemporary art that formed from the diversity of sources of creation, ideas and creative expression. Contemporary art period, both at national and global scope, enlivened by the power of "cultural democracy" which celebrates diversity. With a variety of positive and negative consequences, contemporary art world has become the domain of the growth of party-colored fertile artistic creations. In the world of contemporary art, all legal, things get a place.
The theme of "Unity in Diversity" and refers to the diversity of form and content of the works on display. In addition, the artists involved in this exhibition are also diverse. They come from different generations and cultural backgrounds biographical. There was a fairly senior artists, there are artists who are now up and leaves, young artists, expatriate artists, otodidact artist, academically educated artists, artists from Bali and beyond Bali. Their work offers a diversity of themes, styles and techniques. Based on the belief that aesthetic is different, explore their creative imagination in a variety of individual expression. Most of these artists have exhibited at Artspace Hanna Ubud, Bali. Therefore, in the exhibition "Unity in Diversity", Hanna Artspace opportunity featuring the works of the latest and greatest in graphics creative development of each artist throughout the last two years.
At present, all the schemes and universal system has faded or even disappeared. Art can no longer claim universal truth that solid unshakable. Therefore, in the present art is no longer offered guidance ambitious, but looking orientation. Now art is no longer passionate remarks, but ask questions. Through artwork, the artists of today tend to question the reality that increasingly complex.
As shown by the works in this exhibition, the artists of today no longer desire to be a "hero-rebel" who presume to change the world into an ideal place. They seem to realize that in this global era, reality and all Its Problems have become so complex. Any heroic effort to change the reality very likely will not change anything and ultimately futile. This realization led to the artists of today tend to concentrate more on efforts to understand reality, including their own personal reality. Instead of futile rebellion, they prefer to ponder: In what kind of world we live today? What does it mean to live in the middle of profanity current world realities?
Reflection of the complexity of the contemporary world into a kind of common thread that links a variety of works in this exhibition. With a variety of visual languages, artistic, painting and sculpture in this exhibition echoes the contemporary human psychology that live in an increasingly globalized world, where the causal chain braid wrapped around all over the world, and there's no shred of the world that escape from it. The works in this exhibition implies attraction between the invasion of global forces and local resistance forces, the tension between modern and traditional, the bargaining between the natural and the artificial, the competition between the spiritual and material, between an instant and enduring, between the past and future.
Globalization, as it is said Anthony Giddens, is a matter of transformation of space and time in our lives. Events in distant places will affect us directly, as seen in the impact of the economic crisis which so rapidly spread to all corners of the world. Instead, decisions taken by individuals in a particular place could have implications worldwide. Endeavor to understand the contemporary realities of the world that terglobalkan, along with space-time transformation of consciousness it creates, is a locomotive engine that blends the creativity of artists in the exhibition "Unity in Diversity".
Since its opening in Bali two years ago, Hanna Artspace constantly improve ourselves as agents who are professional, dignified and trustworthy to bridge idealism and pragmatism, creativity and markets, work and apresiator, artists and community. Support, trust and recognition from the art circles and society have been raising Hanna Artrspace and become valuable capital to continue the pace in Jakarta.
